In order to improve the transmission reliability of wireless sensor network (WSN), a new kind of transmission strategy is proposed. Based on multipath and network coding, braided multipath to sink node are established for source node. The strategy encodes the packets at source node and transmits encoded packets on the established paths. Intermediate node is responsible for forwarding received packets. If intermediate node is a cluster head, it will recode the received packets and then transmit the encoded packets. Analyze, compute and simulate transmission reliability and energy consumption of WSN with the proposed strategy. Simulation results show that the strategy can improve transmission reliability and energy efficiency of WSN when compared with traditional multi path method.
